Hot Shots! An Evening of Fun and Photography – Postcard design

The iStock Design Spotlight featured my Hot Shots! postcard. I earned a few photo credits and a little “street cred.” Hurray!

To promote an event held at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, I came up with two concepts – one using a female photographer image from iStock and the Acid Fruil palette from Colour Lovers, the other using a photograph from the Picturing Progress: Hungarian Women Photographers, 1900-1945 exhibit at the museum, abstracted with scrolls and the 200 hearts palette. The portrait is of a pre-war Hungarian woman in traditional dress.

The client preferred the warm colors of the 200 hearts palette with the female photographer image, so the two concepts merged into the final postcard below.

    I can see how the first postcard was scary. I like the red color better than the green. Sounds fun, did you go?
