New charcoal and ink sketch from craft night. The bifocals were found in the ruins of a farm house in Ivor, Virginia. They were one of about a half a dozen pairs that were inside a cookie tin. I dug them out of the brush after my Aunt Margaret’s funeral. The farm is still in her family.
The symbol in the upper-right hand corner is the decoration on the snap of the glasses case. The wine label with the drip is from the wine I brought to craft night, “Casillero del Diablo.”
The black thread is from a spool which I used to sew a button back on my pants at craft night. The sticks of charcoal in the foreground are from the box I used that night.
